Giant Food has been a client of ours for over 40 years. We entered a 3-year commitment with them to totally renovate 120 stores. This huge project included installing various flooring types in extreme high-traffic retail locations.
This project is one of the most rewarding ones we’ve done, for both our management team and work crew. In collaboration with J.J. Haines and Co. and Armstrong Flooring, we installed an entire second-floor residence for two children with special needs. The 1,200 square feet of Armstrong Standard Excelon VCT included multiple custom inlays.
The floor incorporated the residence’s beach motif, complete with sandy shores, beach toys, flip flops, tropical fish, and ship portholes. This project generated a lot of media coverage in the greater Baltimore area and DC corridor.
Underlayment and subfloors are, arguably, the most important aspect of any flooring project.
